Dr. Ardeshna is board certified in epilepsy and neurology he completed his residency in neurology at Henry Ford Hospital and his epilepsy fellowship at Wayne State University. Thus far in his career he has held numerous leadership positions including epilepsy monitoring unit director and medical director of epilepsy services. He has built two epilepsy programs.
In addition to diagnosis and management of seizures Dr. Ardeshna’s expertise includes reading and interpretation of short and long term EEG’s (electroencephalograms) in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Ardeshna’s ongoing commitment to epilepsy patients began since the time he was in residency. In the final year of his neurology training he was selected as resident of the year for his advocacy work for epilepsy patients. Doctor Ardeshna has served on the national Epilepsy Foundation professionally Advisory Board. For multiple years he has taken teenagers with epilepsy as part of the annual TSU teen speak out program of the Epilepsy Foundation to Capitol Hill to meet with their elected representatives to ensure the needs of epilepsy patients are met. On multiple occasions he served as the physician on call for the teens speak out event in Washington DC. While working with the epilepsy foundation, he sent a video to Congress and Senate about epilepsy.
He has authored and proofread articles for journals, websites and the epilepsy advocate magazine. He has also been a speaker on webinars for epilepsy patients and provided record review webinars for EEG techs. He has also served on the professional Advisory Board of the Michigan Epilepsy Foundation. Dr. Ardeshna has served ss a key opinion leader for epilepsy and has provided testimony advocating and supporting the needs of epilepsy patients. He has also served as a spokesperson for Canine Assistants a sponsored program that assists epilepsy patients in obtaining seizure response dogs. Doctor Ardeshna’s commitment to the community is noted by the numerous webinars and community lectures he has completed providing education about an increasing awareness for epilepsy.
